During the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase on Sunday we got to see a new cinematic trailer for Ark 2, which is coming in 2023. You can watch the cinematic trailer below.
According to an IGN article, Ark 2 will be different in some ways to the Ark: Survival Evolved game. Ark 2 will be in third-person view; there will be character traversal mechanics including mantling, free-climbing, parkour, sliding and swinging; melee combat will include target-lock, blocking, dodging, combos, staggers and special attacks. Ark 2 will be based on a new planet where "native flora and fauna are being overrun by invasive primeval creatures, from an extinct Earth." There will be opposing AI called the "Aratai" that "hunt & attack you while riding their own tamed creatures, as they seek to drive human interlopers from their world."
Some new features that Ark 2 will have are: cross-platform modding, component-based item crafting where you can craft unique gear and dynamic world events.
